I was reading about some of the new metrics available on Facebook and the one that jumped out at me is the "Talking About This" number. Go to any brand page on FB and look down the left side of the page, right below the number of "Likes" that brand has, and you'll find the TAT number. It is supposed to a measurement of how well a brand's efforts translate into social chatter on the web.
Technically it is the "number of likes, number of Facebook user comments involving the brand, RVSPs, "@mentions" of a brand, Facebook Places check-ins, and photo-tags." All in all, it's a rough estimation of a brand's strength in social media.
This got me thinking about some of the great local brands. Which Tampa Bay brands are the strongest in the social media world?
So I'm spending some time researching an assortment of local brands on line. I'm going to sort them by "likes," "talking-about-this" and Twitter followers.
Don 't know what I am going to find. Not sure it will mean much. But it should be interesting.
I'll post it tomorrow afternoon. Come on back and check it out.
